I really can’t complain, so far, all of my projects are going well. But I need a break, I hurt both my knee and my elbow pretty badly tonight. I’ll take physical pain over unforeseen issues with my projects any day.
It really hasn’t snowed hard here yet. However there has been enough snow for me to know I can’t keep shoveling this driveway.
I think I should have come up with a better title for the this series than “prologue” . Prologues don’t have 14 parts, which this is going to have.
I have shown a few people my 3D model and have gotten some good feedback. One of the reasons I started blogging about this stuff was to get input from other people. In this case I missed a very obvious change to my plan that several of my friends pointed out. It’s turning into a major project, but it’s worth it.
I have decided that I don’t like demolition. I will say that , after watching Maddog work, I’m getting better at it.
Strangely enough I am still very motivated to get involved in some demolition. Demolition is really not my thing, it’s Maddog’s thing. But I have to keep this stuff moving forward, I really slacked off in the month of December, so it’s time to get back to work.
This a prologue, because I am not actually starting the kitchen project. I am going from room to room on the first floor and deciding the new floor plan. That’s it. Currently there are 3 areas that make up the kitchen and dinning room. This is not counting the actual dining room, which I am converting to an office. Once again, I didn’t take a “before picture”. So I’ll do my best to explain.
The wall is done. I actually finished it over Christmas break but haven’t had time/felt like posting the pictures. Hanging drywall is generally uneventful, once I learned that nothing in a house ever square and you have to measure all 4 sides. Unless, of course, you are hanging dry wall with Walter Jevack, then it can get out of hand. Here are the pictures. As a side note, if you didn’t know, you can click on all the pictures to make them bigger.
